Scissors & Rust: Integrating my textiles with Found objects

In all homes, there is a miscellaneous drawer that most likely contains a pair of old scissors. We may not know from where they originated, but they were designed for a specific profession in mind. Perhaps a dressmaker, tin smith, Bonsai culturist or barber. In that same drawer, they may well be a clamp, spring or gear that has been saved ‘just in case’. I find joy in the challenge of transforming these tools, integrating them with my textile work and giving them a new purpose.
